Working Holiday Visas
Who can get a working holiday visa and what the requirements are:
Young people between the ages of 18 and 30 can get working holiday visas. In a few countries, people between the ages of 18 and 35 can also get them. You can travel and work in New Zealand for up to 12 months if you are from the UK or Canada, or for 23 months if you are from another country. If you want a 23-month visa, you must show a General Medical Certificate.
Employment conditions:
If you are in New Zealand on a working holiday visa, you can’t take a job that will last for a long time. Conditions of work vary from one country to the next. Find out more about the working holiday visa program in your country.
Courses for studying and training:
You can study in New Zealand for up to 6 months if you have a working holiday visa. For example, you could study English for up to 6 months, do a Study Abroad program for up to 6 months, or take a short training course in New Zealand.
