The Citizenship by Investment Unit, also known in short form as (CIU) of St. Kitts and Nevis, is responsible for processing all applications. There is also an expedited application process with a processing timeframe of 45 to 60 days. The CIU evaluates the application extensively and may seek an interview with the applicant, but this is rare. If a false statement is made by an applicant or s/he omits any pertinent information, the CIU will deny their application. The applicant must manually complete government forms that are exclusive to authorized service providers. The program’s documentation requirements are modest, and the procedures are easy. The majority of applicants visit the islands prior to deciding to purchase real estate, but this is not a requirement for the application procedure, which typically takes between three and four months from the submission of the application to the CIU’s approval. Under the real estate option, the time schedule can vary based on the development. Thus it is essential to select a real estate project that complements the citizenship application efficiently. The funding for the real estate, SGF contribution, government fees, and other expenses will be distributed to the various parties upon preliminary approval of the application. The prime minister will then sign the registration certificate, which provides citizenship status. Once the certificate of registration has been issued, the applicant may submit a passport application.
